Monday Memorial Day - May 28, 2012 @ 9am
Location: Tulsa, OK
Elevation: 300 ft
Temp: 92
Planned Miles: Taos, NM 600ish
I'm quickly realizing there is not much time for writing. We spend all day riding. What's up with that? :). I think I will have move to daily highlights and fill in the details later.
- long and hot day through OK. Pretty sure I was blacked out most of the day.
- hit dirt for about 15 miles today. Broke up the monotony. I'm itching for the mtns.
- no drama until the western edge of OK panhandle. We stop for gas an my left eye was VERY inflamed. Dr Dan took over and taped it shut. After about an hour. It got a little better. We hit the road again and I kept it shut for the next 140 miles. One-eyed through the desert as the sun is setting is not ideal.
- lucked onto a great campsite on the edge of springer lake in NM.
Pretty sure I saw skidmore touching are bikes in the parking lot this morning. :)
Wish you had Skidmore with you
Thank you for all the comments and well wishes! I had no idea so many people would be interested in this trip. We are having a great time and one heck of an adventure. Thank you for being apart of it. :) I’m not sure the next time I will have internet but will try to update asap. Ride on! Jason
Thank you Ames! I just took posted an great sunset pic for you.
I just checked out where you are and see that you finally made it into Colorado! I bet the views are amazing : ) I’m sure you are having fun, but I have to admit everything inside me is squirming to know how your eye is doing? Please be careful! We’re missing you immensely here but everything is running smooth so don’t worry and don’t forget to take a picture of a sunset if you can!
Oh give me a home where the Super T’s roam………… LOL!
Jason, Go the Pagosa Springs hang a left and go through Wolf Creek Pass and up Hwy 550
It’s fun following your progress. Leon is very jealous!
What happened your eye.???
Comments will be approved before showing up.

The dry wind – lots of wind – and dust killed it as we came across the plains. I thought it was going to fall out. Riding with one eye into the sun makes for a challenging mc ride. Its doing much better now and I’m doing a better job with the drops.
